About Maine Source Machining Co., Inc.

Maine Source Machining Co., Inc. is a precision machining and metal fabrication company located in the Southwest Mountains of Maine—strategically positioned one hour west of Portland and 1.5 hours north of Boston.

Founded in 2004 by owners Chad and Nicole Humphrey, the company began as a job-shop machine shop serving a wide range of industrial customers. Over the past two decades, Maine Source Machining has grown into a full-service, end-to-end metal manufacturing partner, with every critical process performed in house.

Today, our capabilities include:

By keeping machining, fabrication, finishing, and assembly under one roof, we reduce handoffs, shorten lead times, and maintain tight control over quality from raw material to finished product.

Maine Source Machining is also the manufacturing home of Humphrey’s BBQ Smokers, a nationally recognized product line that is fully designed, fabricated, welded, finished, and assembled in our facility. In 2018, Humphrey’s was selected as a finalist on Greenlight Maine, highlighting our ability to take a product from concept to market through in-house manufacturing.

In 2019, Maine Source Machining Co., Inc. was named to the Mainebiz Next List, recognizing our company for growth, leadership, and impact within Maine’s manufacturing community.

Beyond manufacturing, Chad and Nicole actively compete in barbecue competitions across the United States, using the same equipment they build in their shop—often in extreme weather, tight timelines, and high-pressure environments where consistency and reliability matter most. This hands-on, real-world testing reinforces our focus on durability, repeatability, and performance in everything we produce.
